Over the years I have accumulated many little hints and tips through neccessity and experience,
and I would like to share them with you here.

It is hoped that this page will help make your day run smoother and the lead-up to it more informative.

hope you find it useful ...  jo

Make-up Tips

Drink plenty of water - 1-2 litres everyday, your skin will look younger, your make-up fresher.

Don't necessarily stick to make-up trends, try them for fun, but you would do better to begin to learn what make-up looks best for you, what colours you should be wearing.
Hair Tips

Never ever experiment with your hair colour less than two months prior to your wedding. Any less than this and you may run out of suitable time for any changes.

If you are growing your hair for your wedding, try to find time to give it a moisture masque, say once every 3-4 weeks, during the 4-6 month lead-up to your big day.

To quote hairstylist Sarah Laidlaw, as I agree with her, always be careful of what she calls the "wishful thinking" trap- choosing a hair style from a photo of a digitally enhanced stunning model who often has completely different hair type and texture, length and colour. These things make it impossible to exactly replicate hair styles.

Wedding Day Tips

TISSUES!  Despite your best intentions, you are going to need them, and need them quickly. TRY THIS LITTLE HINT: if your dress allows, fold one tissue flat and place it down the front of your boddice, bra or corset.

Have a little nail file handy, either in a little bag or have one of your bridesmaids keep one. The importance of this will become apparent when you have a little chip in your nail and it keeps wanting to catch your veil or your $110/mt French lace trim on your dress.

Same as above for little safety pins!
Healthy Skin & Hair Tips

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER, and if you think you do already, try drinking just a little more. It has unbelievable benefits for your hair and skin as well as your body, particularly at a cellular level, where it really counts.

Have a facial no sooner than 1 week before your Day.

Have any facial waxing no sooner than 4 days before your Day.

If you are having a fake tan for your day, most definately have a trial first, making sure you get all relevant information from your tanning therapist.

Go back to your skin care regime if you have been digressing from it, (lets admit it, we all do!) We dont live in a perfect pollutant-free world, so yes we do need to take a little time to keep our skin free from damaging elements.

A good skin care routine and UV protection WILL benefit you in the long run.
Trial Information

Have a trial 4-6 weeks or more before your Day, as this gives you time to make changes if you wish to.

Allow 1 hour for your make-up trial and 1-2 hours for your hair.
I will take photos of hair and make-up and write notes of the final result, along with make-up charts for your make-up so that we have an accurate record for your Wedding day., and is also easier to make any changes.

Generally most brides will have a soft and very natural looking make-up, with soft eyes   or a light coverage of the latest fashion shades.

Lips will generally be soft natural colours, either matte or gloss.

I always take into consideration the tones and colours of your wedding, and not to do do any colour matching, but to keep within the feel and theme of your wedding.

Your bridesmaid's hair and make-up will generally compliment your look, after all it IS your day!
